These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of Great Local Pros (the "Site"), operated by Pithe Digital Group LLC, an Oregon limited liability company ("Pithe," "we," "us"). By using the Site you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy.

1. Who we are, what we do

Great Local Pros is a directory of local service businesses in U.S. towns. We publish factual information about businesses (name, contact, service area, category) and reviews submitted by users. We are not the businesses listed here. We do not perform any of the underlying services, supervise the work, employ anyone listed, or guarantee outcomes. We are an informational service, not a broker, agent, or licensee of any listed business.

2. Use of the site

The Site is free to browse. Listings are provided "as is" — we make reasonable efforts to keep info accurate but cannot guarantee it. Always confirm a contractor's license, insurance, and references with the business before hiring them, especially for major work.

• You agree not to use the Site for any unlawful purpose.
• You agree not to scrape, copy, or republish substantial portions of the Site without our written permission. Individual listing facts (which are not copyrightable) are available via business owners directly.
• You agree not to attempt to circumvent our security measures, rate limits, or bot-checks.
• You agree not to use the Site to send unsolicited commercial communications to listed businesses or other users.

3. Listings sourced from public records

Some listings include basic information (name, phone, address, category) sourced from publicly available state business registry filings. This information is factual data, publicly available, and not protected by copyright. Every such listing is clearly labeled. If you are the business owner and want your listing removed, corrected, or claimed, email info@greatlocalpros.com. We honor removal and correction requests within 48 hours, free of charge.

4. If you submit a listing, claim, or review

• You represent and warrant that the information you submit is true, accurate, and not misleading; that you have the right to submit it; and that submitting it does not violate any law or third-party right.
• You grant Pithe a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, and distribute your submission on the Site and in related promotional materials.
• You agree not to submit content that is illegal, defamatory, fraudulent, infringing, deceptive, threatening, harassing, hateful, sexually explicit, or that contains malware or personal information about others without their consent.
• We may approve, edit (for clarity/formatting), reject, or remove any submission at our discretion, with or without notice.

5. Reviews — honest, first-hand, FTC-compliant

Reviews must reflect a real, first-hand experience with the business. Fake, paid, incentivized, or undisclosed reviews are strictly prohibited, per FTC guidelines (16 CFR Part 465). This includes reviews placed by the business itself, employees, family members, agents, or anyone with an undisclosed material connection.

• Submitting a fake or paid review is grounds for permanent removal from the Site and may be reported to the FTC.
• We do not suppress or hide negative reviews in exchange for payment.
• Businesses may flag a review they believe is factually false (not just negative); we investigate within 7 business days.
• We may, at our discretion, remove reviews that appear to be coordinated, inauthentic, or off-topic.

6. Premium listings, billing & refunds

Premium listings are $49.00 per month (founder rate), billed in advance via Stripe. Standard rate is $79.00/month for new subscribers after the first 500 nationwide founder spots are filled. Founder pricing is locked for the life of the subscription, but lapses if you cancel and rejoin.

• Cancel any time. No contracts, no exit fees. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; the listing remains live until then.
• Refund policy. We do not pro-rate refunds for partial months (industry standard). If the Site is down for an extended period (more than 7 days in a billing cycle) or we materially fail to deliver advertised Premium features, you may request a pro-rated refund for the impacted period.
• Chargebacks. Please contact us before filing a chargeback — we resolve nearly all billing concerns within one business day.
• Free listings stay free. If we ever change pricing on the basic tier, existing free listings will be grandfathered in.

7. $995 Website Package

The website package is a one-time fee of $995.00 USD for production of one professional single-page website with copywriting, photo placement, contact form, mobile design, and basic SEO setup. One round of revisions is included. Specifics (scope, content, delivery date) are agreed in writing before work begins. Standard delivery is 5–7 business days from receipt of required content from you.

• 50% refund available if you cancel before we begin work; non-refundable once we begin (typically the day after payment).
• Optional hosting is $29/month, cancellable any time; you retain the site files.
• Optional domain is $15/year, registered in your name.
• Optional update plan is $149/year for text/photo changes as needed.

8. Intellectual property

Site design, code, original copy, logos, and trademarks are owned by Pithe Digital Group LLC. Business names and trademarks belong to their respective owners. Use of a business's name in a listing is nominative (descriptive) and does not imply endorsement or affiliation.

9. Indemnification

If you submit content to the Site (a listing, review, or otherwise), you agree to indemnify and hold harmless Pithe and its officers, employees, and contractors from any third-party claim arising out of your content, your use of the Site, or your violation of these Terms.

10. Disclaimers & limitation of liability

The Site is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including (without limitation) merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not warrant the quality, safety, or legality of any business listed, the truth of reviews, or that the Site will be uninterrupted or error-free.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Pithe's total liability for any claim arising from or related to the Site is limited to (a) the amount you paid Pithe in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) $100, whichever is greater. Pithe is not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limits; in those, our liability is limited to the maximum permitted by law.

11. Dispute resolution & arbitration

If a dispute arises, we'd like to try to resolve it informally first — please email info@greatlocalpros.com and give us a fair chance to fix it. If informal resolution fails, any dispute that can't be resolved between us shall be resolved by binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, in the State of Oregon, USA. You agree to arbitrate on an individual basis only — no class actions, class arbitrations, or representative actions are permitted, except where prohibited by law. You may opt out of arbitration by emailing us within 30 days of first agreeing to these Terms.

Either party may bring small-claims actions in their local court for qualifying claims.

12. Governing law & venue

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Oregon, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. For disputes not subject to arbitration, exclusive jurisdiction and venue lie in the state and federal courts located in Multnomah County, Oregon.

13. Changes

We may update these Terms occasionally. Material changes will be posted on this page with the new "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Site after a change constitutes acceptance.
